Neutral Workshop seeks a Lead Bench to support our custom woodworking team. You'll assist in fabricating high-end architectural elements,and cabinetry along with installing different wood elements in each of Neutral’s projects while developing advanced skills under experienced mentorship. This role offers hands-on experience with premium materials and techniques in a professional workshop environment.
Neutral Workshop was started to augment Neutral’s componentized building systems with handcrafted elements that honor the century-old craftsmanship traditions of the cities we build. With this approach, we can combine the benefits of construction with the beauty of handcrafted design. We do not need to compromise on the speed of delivery and cost-effectiveness, and we can integrate meticulously designed, sustainably built, bespoke interior fit-out components into our projects. These carefully curated elements will infuse each space with a human touch, preventing the building from devolving into a soulless object. We aspire to evoke the timeless grandeur of neo-classical architecture, as seen in the great cities of Europe.
A candidate should have 10 years of experience in Architectural millwork, cabinetmaking, and/or woodworking. A candidate should be able to read and understand shop drawings. Experience in working with and managing people is a plus! The right candidate will be able to anticipate challenges in production and provide solutions. The candidate will be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment. A task driven person who can articulate vision for the project, and set up activities to follow suit. Overall is organized in production and readily reviews their own work that is being completed: is able to redirect focus and energy, as required, to satisfy standards that are to be met. Should have command of most woodworking tools: stationary machines, hand tools, and handwork. Nice to have is OSHA 30 training and CPR training
